Supporters, neighbors, and community leaders came out to support Burgos’s campaign launch, and he was endorsed by Wilton Manors Vice Mayor Chris Caputo and Commissioner Mike Bracchi. Both expressed how, along with Burgos’s qualifications, his ability to ask the right questions, collaborative spirit, and his experience managing a large team and budget make him an excellent choice for the City’s Commission, or as City Commissioner Mike Bracchi put it, “There is no devil on the City’s Commission, but it could use an Angel.”
“I’m not coming in with all the answers,” Burgos said. “I’m coming in with the right questions, and a real commitment to listening before drawing conclusions.” City governments work best when the staff is given the support and clarity they need to do their job. Burgos wants to work with current staff to set them up for success, so the city can thrive.
Burgos shares the same concerns as many residents — the shrinking tax base, the stalled development, the rising cost of living — and those concerns sit at the heart of his platform for the city. “I believe we can grow our tax base, fill homes with neighbors rather than a weekend tenant, and build a Wilton Manors that keeps pulling people in,” Burgos said.
